Atiba Edwards, Brooklyn Children’s Museum (United States) – the Executive VP & COO of Brooklyn Children’s Museum overseeing Finance, HR, Visitor Experience, Marketing and Communications, Membership, Facilities, Information Technology and several other areas. He is also the co-founded of FOKUS, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that uses the arts to connect and create communities while inspiring everyone to find their creative inner artist to highlight the importance of imagination and our roles in creating a better world. Prior to joining Brooklyn Children’s Museum, he co-led a charter middle school in Brooklyn, NY and before that he spent five years in Investment Banking at JPMorgan and Nomura Securities covering the Automotive, Healthcare, Industrials and Defense sectors as a Fixed Income Research Analyst.
Ernestine Comvalius, Bijlmer Parktheater (Netherlands) & Simone Zeefuik, Lazeefuik (Netherlands) Ernestine Comvalius is the first director of Bijlmer Park Theatre and director of Theatre Krater. Ernestine is also the external coach of Kunstenaars & Co: she guides young immigrant artists in the project van Talent naar Beroep. She participates in various networks, such as ATANA and the New Coalition. For many years, Comvalius was chairman of the PATM consultation of Amsterdam Theatres and Museums, chairman of the evaluation committees of the Media Fund, and board member of ITS DNA.
Simone Zeefuik is an Amsterdam based writer, cultural programmer and organizer whose work centres around on representation, inclusivity and social justice. She focuses on Africentred perspectives, decolonizing knowledge institutes, digital archives and movements against the illegalizing of the so-called undocumented members of the Afro-Dutch communities. Artistically, her main interests are films, literature and theatre. As part of the first ‘class’ of Amsterdam’s Bijlmer Parktheater representatives in the Nieuwe Stukken (New Pieces) project, Zeefuik wrote Nour, a play about a woman lead, Afro-Dutch party making its way to the Dutch House of Parliament. Together with Richard Kofi (visual artist and her partner-in-programming at Bijlmer Parktheater) she initiated and hosts the podcast Project Wiaspora.
